Hurricane Ida has reached the Gulf of Mexico and sustained winds up to 75 MPH. Currently, Ida is moving NW at a speed of around 6mph.
Everyone in New Orleans still remembers hurricane Katrina and it appears that Ida might hit the New Orleans again. Current estimations were over 50%. We can only hope that if it hits the city, the ravage won't be as hard as Katrina.
As per US National Hurricane Centre (Miami) Ida has been reported to re-strengthen and gained the status of category 2 storm, causing the hurricane watch extended up to Florida panhandle, southeastern Louisiana (Mexico Beaches).
